"Her passion for Team USA is contagious, and her adventures in South Korea should be fascinating," he continued.

Jones made headlines in 2016 when her Team USA social media posts grabbed the attention of NBC executives during the Summer Olympics. The Saturday Night Live star was then invited to work as a correspondent interviewing athletes.

"Guess What Time It Is Y'all!!!!! And Guess Where I'm Going!!!!! Slay All Day USA!!!!!!!" the comedian said in a new social media post on Instagram that features herself working out while wearing sunglasses and an American flag outfit.

NBC's primetime coverage of the Winter Olympics begins on Feb. 8.
