SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 23 -- Sacramento Kings veteran forward Frank Brickowski will undergo surgery Tuesday on his dislocated right shoulder and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced Monday. Dr. Frank Jobe of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Inglewood, will perform the operation at Sentinela Hospital at 3:00 p.m. EST. Brickowski will remain in the hospital for approximately two days following the surgery and will begin rehabilitation immediately upon his release.

The 35-year-old Brickowski, who was signed by the Kings during the offseason as a free agent, suffered the injury in a preseason game at Detroit on Oct. 27. After being placed on the injured list on Nov. 3, the 10-year veteran spent the next 11 weeks attempting to strengthen and rehabilitate the injury. Brickowski was originally selected by the New York Knicks in the third round (57th overall) of the 1981 NBA Draft, but opted to play in Europe. He played three seasons overseas in Italy, France and Israel before signing with Seattle as a free agent in 1984. He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio, Milwaukee and Charlotte.
