SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz traded veteran forward-center Mike Brown to the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday for center Felton Spencer.

The 6-foot-10, 260-pound Brown, a seven-year veteran, played in all 82 games for the Jazz last season, starting at center in 21 contests.

He averaged5.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. The 29-year-old Brown has seen action in 381 consecutive games, the third longest current streak in the league.

Brown, a former standout at George Washington University, was acquired by the Jazz on June 23, 1988 from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kelly Tripucka. He was originally drafted by Chicago in the third round of the 1985 NBA Draft. However, he elected to play in Italy during the 1985-86 season, returning to the Bulls for the following two seasons before being acquired by the Jazz.

The 7-foot, 265-pound Spencer spent the past three seasons with Minnesota after being selected by the Timberwolves in the first round (6th overall) of the 1990 NBA Draft out of Louisville. He averaged 4.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 71 games in 1992-93 with 48 starts last season.

As a rookie, he averaged 7.1 points in 81 games and was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team. He saw action in just 61 games the following season (1991-92) due to various injuries, averaging 6.6 points and 7.1 rebounds.
