LONDON -- Tottenham used a goal from ailing Paul Gascoigne with six minutes left to beat second division Notts County 2-1 Sunday and advance to the semifinals of the English FA Cup.

Also in the semifinals are first division leader Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

On Saturday, Arsenal defeated third division Cambridge 2-1 and Nottingham Forest edged Norwich 1-0.

The last semifinal berth will be decided Monday when Everton plays at second division West Ham.

Gasgoigne, England's World Cup star, is recovering from a double hernia. His side-footed shot, his 18th goal of the season, came after Steve Sedgley split the Notts defense.

'I am having a good scoring run at the moment and today's goal could not have come at a better time,' he said. 'I am struggling a little bit with my injury but I was not struggling when the ball hit the back of the net.

Notts County, which won the FA Cup in 1894, took a 1-0 lead when Don O'Riordan converted a 20-yard left-footer four minutes before halftime. Tottenham tied it in the 51st minute when Nayim's shot ricocheted off Notts defender Craig Short, hit the post and rebounded into the net.
