CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Lewis Billups pleaded innocent Friday to four gun charges and was freed on $9,000 bond.

Billups was arrested Thursday and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, transportation of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and two counts of aggravated menacing.

Two plainclothes police officers said Billups pointed a gun at them from inside his car. Police said a search of Billups' car turned up a .38-caliber semi-automatic pistol and seven rounds of ammunition.

Billups, 25, a four-year Bengals veteran from the University of North Alabama, was the club's eighth-leading tackler this past season with 49 tackles. He also had two pass interceptions and a recovered fumble.
