ABUJA, Nigeria, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Nigerian officials released lawyer Aisha Wakil from custody after questioning her about her links to a Boko Haram video appearing to depict the abducted Chibok girls over the weekend. Wakil was wanted along with two other people in connection with the video posted earlier this week which allegedly presented at least 40 of the girls abducted by the Islamist group in 2014 from a school.

Journalist Ahmad Saldika, who posted the video after rare access to the insurgents, and Ahmed Bolori, who has worked as a negotiator, are still being sought by Nigerian authorities for questioning. Wakil presented herself Monday at Nigeria's defense headquarters; she was later transferred to the offices of the Directorate of State Security, and remained in custody for about 48 hours before she was released, a source told the Nigerian newspaper Premium Times.
Wakil was not charged with any crimes after questioning.
"She was treated with utmost respect and dignity by the DSS. They only wanted to seek her cooperation and expert advice in ending the insurgency and securing the release of the abducted Chibok school girls," a source told Nigeria's Tori News, the website AM Online TV reported.
