Pakistan drone strike targeting Uzbek fighters in North Waziristan kills 7

Pakistani officials report a drone strike in northwestern Pakistan targeted a house used by Uzbek fighters.

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- An alleged drone strike in northwestern Pakistan killed seven militants on Wednesday.

Pakistani intelligence and government sources told CNN that the airstrike targeted a house used by Uzbek fighters in North Waziristan.

Three others were reportedly injured in the attack.

Wednesday's drone strike follows a Pakistani military ground offensive and airstrike operation launched in June to "finish off" the Taliban "once and for all."

It is unclear who was killed in Wednesday's strike.
