SEOUL, July 31 (UPI) -- South Korean activists started showing solidarity with North Koreans by sending chocolate goodies attached to to helium balloons.
The treats, called choco pies, became popular in North Korea after they were given to soldiers in the demilitarized zone as a treat. The pies are sold on the black market for up to $10.

Government officials found out about the treats, and after calling them "capitalist," banned them and ordered the soldiers to only receive instant coffee and sausages. Learning of the restrictions, a group of activists gathered choco pies, tied them to helium balloons and sent them over the border.
