Military engineers were trying to collapse a tunnel that was discovered last month when Palestinian militants detonated a bomb that targeted Israeli forces, a statement from the army said.

Israeli forces then opened fire and killed Rabieh Barikeh, 23, a member of the Hamas military wing.

Israeli aircraft then targeted a second tunnel and three other members of Hamas were killed, the Times reported.
