KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Seven Afghan soldiers and four Afghan police officers were killed in separate roadside bomb attacks across Afghanistan, defense officials said Sunday.
A statement from Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense on Sunday said that two soldiers were killed in the southern Kandahar province, three soldiers in Logar province, and two in Paktiya province, Khaama Press reported.
All of the soldiers died in the past 24 hours, the statement said.
Two other soldiers were injured by a roadside bomb blast in Kandahar, the statement said.
The statement also said four Afghan police officers were killed in two roadside bombings in the eastern Ghazni province.
Three police officers were also injured in one of the attacks, the statement said.
