Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay command master chief relieved of duty

GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- The command master chief at U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay has been relieved of duty due to allegations of personal misconduct, the hospital said.

Capt. Daryl K. Daniels, the hospital's commanding officer, relieved Master Chief Hospital Corpsman Robert Banuelos due to lack of confidence because of the allegations, the hospital's public affairs department said.

Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Michael L. Graven was assigned as acting CMC of the hospital during the investigation of Banuelos, who was temporarily assigned to other duties.

U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay employs approximately 250 personnel who support a base population of approximately 6,000.
