BEIJING, July 24 (UPI) -- A gas explosion at a downtown Beijing bakery killed two people and injured 19 Wednesday morning, Chinese officials say.
Four people were hospitalized with severe injuries, the official state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The explosion at the Golden Phoenix Bakery store in the Dongcheng district of Beijing occurred about 7:30 a.m. local time.

The ensuing fire was extinguished and two tanks containing liquefied gas removed, officials said.
