Blasts kill two in China

BEIJING, May 26 (UPI) -- Three separate blasts Thursday, believed to be the work of a disgruntled farmer, killed and injured several people in an eastern Chinese city, officials said.

The blasts occurred in a one hour period Thursday morning near government buildings in Fuzhou in eastern Jiangxi province, Xinhua reported.

At least two people were reported killed and six more were injured, local officials said.

The attack sites were near government and the district's food and drug administration buildings.

A photograph showed thick smoke rising from one of the sites. A witness said one of the blasts blew away windows on a government building.

The report quoted a provincial government source as saying a disgruntled farmer is suspected to have set off the blasts. The reason for his action, however, was unclear. Authorities were looking for the suspect.
