India building collapse kills 2, traps others

JALANDHAR, India, April 16 (UPI) -- A factory building collapsed in the Punjab state of India, killing two people and leaving at least 20 feared trapped, officials said.

The blanket factory collapsed about midnight Sunday in Jalandhar, NDTV reported.

Officials said 48 people had been rescued and the fire brigade and the National Disaster Response Force have been involved in rescue operations throughout the night.

The cause of the building collapse had not been determined.
