Between 100 and 150 members of the evangelical church, comprised most of Haitians, were in the worship space on the first floor of the building when part of the floor gave way, the French newspaper said.

"I heard a scream, I turned around and saw dust. I saw that the floor had collapsed. It's awful!" said a man who identified himself as Brother Patrick.
