Gilani contempt hearing postponed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 27 (UPI) -- Pakistan's Supreme Court Tuesday adjourned the contempt case against Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani until April 12.

The decision came after the justices were told Gilani's lawyer wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be able to present his arguments, Geo News reported.

An assistant for lawyer Aitraz Ahsan Monday told the court his boss was unwell and couldn't attend the proceedings so the hearing was postponed for one day.

When court resumed Tuesday, Ahsan was asked if he was well enough to proceed and he said he wasn't.

Gilani is facing contempt charges for refusing to act on the high court's order to revive the case of alleged money laundering against President Asif Ali Zardari.
