JAKARTA, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The wife of a man accused of carrying out bombings on Christian churches in Bali was sent to prison for two years Wednesday for lying on a passport application.

Prosecutors had asked for a four-year sentence for Ruqayyah binti Husein Luceno, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

She was convicted of applying for a passport under a false name.

Her husband, Umar Patek, is awaiting trial. The couple flew to Pakistan in 2009 under false passports, officials say.

Patek, who was arrested early last year in Abbottabad, the Pakistani town where al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden was later killed by U.S. forces, allegedly was involved in the Christmas Eve 2000 bombings in Bali. He also is charged with knowing about a terrorist training camp in Aceh, Indonesia, that was discovered in 2010.

At his wife's trial, Patek said he had been invited to participate in the camp but decided to go to Afghanistan to fight for Muslims there.
