Three civilians reported killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, July 27 (UPI) -- An attack by NATO forces in northeastern Afghanistan killed at least three civilians Wednesday, local officials said.

French troops in the international force fired on a vehicle in the Nijrab district of Kapisa province, District Chief Sultan Mohammad Safi told Iran's state-run Press TV. He said a woman and a child were among the victims.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the International Security Assistance Force had no comment on the incident.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has repeatedly condemned the killings of civilians, a constant source of tension with the U.S.-led force.
