LONDON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Kate Middleton will be sticking to British royal tradition when she walks down the aisle to marry Prince William this spring, royal family representatives said.
People Magazine said Saturday there will be a few touches to Kate's ensemble that date back generations.
Queen Victoria had a sprig of the herb myrtle in her bridal bouquet when she got married in 1840. So did Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, and so will Kate. The bouquet will be left after the ceremony at the grave of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey.
The royal wedding band will contain gold from a mine in Wales, a tradition that began relatively recently with the Queen Mother's wedding in 1923.
One change will be the material for Kate's wedding dress. The silk supplier that had been used since the 1930s went out of business 20 years ago.
