Apple to begin taking preorders for Watch 7 Series this week

Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Apple announced on Monday that customers will be able to start ordering its newest Watch, the seventh edition, this week.

The company said it will begin taking preorders for the Apple Watch Series 7 on Friday. The watches will be in stores on Oct. 15.

Apple unveiled the smartwatch, along with the iPhone 13 and other products, at its annual launch event last month. Available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, the Watch also has a new design and larger display.

The Watch 7 starts with a retail cost of $399 and is available in five colors -- black, gold, blue, red and dark green.

Apple says it has a softer design, charges quicker and has an 18-hour battery life. It's also the first Apple Watch to receive IP6X certification for protection against dust.
