May 24 (UPI) -- SiriusXM said Monday it's launching a TikTok music channel to its lineup to broadcast what it called "trending sounds."

The channel, TikTok Radio, will premiere on the satellite radio lineup this summer.

SiriusXM said the channel is designed as a radio version of TikTok's "For You" page, and will feature content from creators on the social video platform.

"We are excited to collaborate with TikTok to create new content that brings the vibrancy of the leading social networking service to life on live radio," SiriusXM President Scott Greenstein said in a statement.

"The effect TikTok has on music, and pop culture in general, is undeniable."

"Listeners can expect to hear directly from music's next generation of rising stars and whatever else the TikTok community is vibing to," SiriusXM added.

TikTok launched as a video-sharing service in 2016 and now claims nearly 700 million users worldwide.
