Pennsylvania mother, daughter arrested for killing 5 relatives

Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania police arrested a mother and daughter accused of killing five family members in their apartment, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Shana Decree, 45, and her daughter Dominique Decree, 19, each face five counts of criminal homicide and one county of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide for killing Shana Decree's 25-year-old daughter Naa'Irah Smith, her 13-year-old son Damon Decree Jr. and her 9-year-old twin nieces Imani Allen and Erika Allen, and the twins' mother and Shana Decree's sister 42-year-old Jamilla Campbell, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.

"This is a terrible tragedy. I just spoke with the family of the five deceased and they are all heartbroken," Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said during a media briefing.

The bodies of the five victims were discovered in the bedroom of a Morrisville, Pa., apartment at around 4 p.m. Monday. The cause of death was under investigation and the motive was unknown, Weintraub said.

The two suspects were initially taken to a hospital before entering police custody, he said.

Police launched a search for Jamilla Campbell's 17-year-old son, Joshua Campbell, to ensure his safety. They located him and determined he was safe.

During an arraignment Tuesday, District Judge Jan Vislosky ordered Shana Decree to be held without bail. Dominique Decree was expected to be arraigned later in the day.
