Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A former bodyguard to President Donald Trump will be questioned on Capitol Hill on Tuesday as part of the investigation into Russian election interference.

Keith Schiller will be questioned by the House Intelligence Committee behind closed doors.

Schiller was a former New York City police officer who later became part of the Trump organization's security team.

Since 1999, Schiller served as a confidant, friend and bodyguard for Trump and had a front row seat to the president's election campaign and rise to reality star fame.

Schiller was often the first and last aide Trump saw each day when he was head of Oval Office operations in the White House, giving him intimate knowledge of the president's day-to-day activities.

The committee will likely question Schiller about a trip Trump made to Moscow in 2013 for the Miss Universe pageant. A controversial 35-page dossier put together as opposition research during the 2016 campaign alleges scandalous activities took place on the trip.

Trump has called the dossier, produced by former MI6 Agent Christopher Steele, "disgraceful" and "totally made up."

Schiller may also face questions about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, as Schiller was the one to personally hand Comey a letter informing him he was fired.

Schiller announced he would be resigning from his White House post in September to work in private security, but he visited the White House on Oct. 26.
