Two inmates escape from work center in Mississippi

GULFPORT, Miss., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Two inmates escaped from a work center in Gulfport early Sunday, Mississippi Department of Corrections officials said.

Zachary Savoie, 21, and Joshua Walton, 33, were being housed at the Harrison County Community Work Center when they were reported missing around 3 a.m., the department said.

Savoie was sentenced on Sept. 15, 2015, and is serving four years for residential burglary and grand larceny in Pike County. Walton was sentenced March 15 and is serving a six-year sentence for residential burglary in Neshoba County.

Savoie is 5 foot 8 inches, 170 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. Walton is 6 foot 3 inches, 180 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.
