Nashville-bound flight makes emergency landing after bird strike

CHARLESTON, W.Va., April 15 (UPI) -- A Delta flight en route to Tennessee from New York made an emergency landing in West Virginia after a bird hit the windshield.

Delta Flight 4071, which originated in LaGuardia Airport, made an emergency landing at Yeager Airport in Charleston about 4:50 p.m. with 57 people aboard, airport officials said. The bird strike cracked the windshield.

No one was injured. Passengers boarded a new plane about 8 p.m.
