SIMI VALLEY, Calif., March 8 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton will break from campaigning Friday in order to attend the funeral of fellow former first lady Nancy Reagan.

Clinton's campaign spokesman tweeted out Tuesday the candidate would cancel two rallies planned for Friday afternoon in Missouri and Illinois. Both states hold primaries on March 15. Instead, Clinton will travel to Simi Valley, Calif., where a private funeral service will be held for Reagan at her husband's presidential library.

The Clinton campaign said it will reschedule rallies in St. Louis and Chicago to Saturday and Monday, respectively.

First lady Michelle Obama is also scheduled to attend Reagan's funeral.
