WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., are tweeting pictures of the democratic presidential flying in cramped coach class -- just like them.

The hash tag #SandersOnAPlane has posts dating as far back as the summer months, but the tag picked up steam over the holiday season, with supporters tweeting stealth images of the candidate on planes.

CNN reported most of the 2016 presidential hopefuls have flown coach once or twice, but a Sanders sighting during boarding seems to rouse more social media gushing -- likely because flying coach adds to the Vermont senator's "everyman" image.

One tweet even praises the candidate for taking the middle seat.

A Twitter account devoted to grassroots organizing for Sanders nabbed several images of the candidate posing for selfies with supporters in airports and on planes. "We[']re glad to see the press reporting on #SandersOnAPlane," the tweet reads. "[W]e #FeelTheBern as far away from first class as possible;)"
