HOUSTON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Parts of Louisiana and Mississippi are under flash flood watches Sunday after remnants of Hurricane Patricia moved across southeastern Texas with a deluge of rain.
Up to 20 inches of rain have fallen on some parts of Texas, with more expected in the coming days across the Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi Valley. The storm is then expected to move across the United States, dumping inches of rain along the way. By the end of the week, it is forecasted to dump rain across parts of New England.
A homeless man in San Antonio remains missing after being swept away in the flood waters. His dog was found in a drainage ditch, authorities said.
Rivers are predicted to overflow in Corpus Christi, Waco and near San, Antonio, Texas and in Lake Charles, La. In Houston, all of the downtown exits from Interstate 45 were closed due to flooding. Galveston County is under a volunteer evacuation with up to 12 inches of rain and seas up to five feet.
