HOUSTON, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Six construction workers at a site in downtown Houston were hospitalized Friday after a scaffolding collapsed, fire officials said.
About 200 workers were at the construction site when the collapse happened, KHOU reported. Six became trapped beneath the scaffolding debris, fire officials said.
All six were rescued and rushed to a hospital. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
The construction employees were working on an apartment building in downtown Houston across the street from Minute Maid Park, the Houston Astros' ballpark.
Fire officials said they were initially concerned that pedestrians might have been injured by the collapse.
Witnesses told KHOU that a vehicle ran into the scaffolding immediately before it collapsed. Officials, though, had not confirmed the cause.
