Amber alert issued for 2-year-old boy in Sampson County, N.C.

Authorities are searching for 2-year-old Jeremiah Hughes and his alleged abductor, Alison Naylor Robinson.

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A 2-year-old boy was abducted in Sampson County, N.C., triggering an Amber Alert Friday morning.

Jeremiah Hughes was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt with brown sleeves and a picture of a pirate in front and blue swimming shorts.

He is approximately 3 feet tall, weighs 60 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes.

The Department of Public Safety said it believes Jeremiah may have been taken by a neighbor, Alison Naylor Robinson. Robinson is a 39-year-old white female, 5-foot-8, weighing 225 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

She is driving a Brown 2001 Buick Century with a South Carolina license tag number KHX-728.

They were last seen in Sampson County, and are possibly headed toward Beverley Street in Pickens County or Marietta, Ga.
