MILWAUKEE, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- One of two men charged with stealing a 300-year-old Stradivarius violin has pleaded not guilty to robbery in a Milwaukee courtroom, officials say.
During a court appearance Monday, Salah Salahadyn, 41, of Milwaukee waived his right to a preliminary hearing and had his next court date set for March 27, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Salahadyn was charged this month with stealing the violin from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Frank Almond.
Police allege Salahadyn and another man, Universal Knowledge Allah, 36, used a stun gun to take the violin from Almond following a Jan. 27 concert.
Allah was arrested this week.
The violin, known as the Lipinski Strad, is valued at $5 million. The instrument was recovered.
