The boy was wrapped in cloth up to his neck and plastic bags surrounded his body in the bathtub.

Police were initially called to the home by the father of the boy, Sumeet Dhawan, who said he had been out of town for the previous three weeks and upon returning was concerned about his wife, Pallavi Dhawan, and their son.

Sumeet Dhawan said his wife had left their home for a couple hours and he became concerned when she didn't return so he called police. He said he learned through email that his son hadn't attended school for several days.

When Pallavi Dhawan returned to the home, she told police her son was in the bathroom, which she had locked. When police asked her if she had killed the child, she allegedly nodded her head "yes."

Police arrested Pallavi and charged her with first-degree murder. She was held on $50,000 bond, the police report said.
