U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott breaks jaw

WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott, of Virginia broke his jaw while playing tennis, officials said.

The Democrat was playing tennis in the Hampton Roads area Saturday when he tripped and landed on his chin, the (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported.

Scott's spokesman David Dailey said the congressman's jaw will be wired shut for two weeks, but that he will remain on the job in Washington.

"It's really painful when he speaks," Dailey said.
