WASHINGTON, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The jackpot for the U.S. Mega Millions lottery game has grown to $636 million, lottery officials said Tuesday.
The drawing will be held Tuesday night.

Mega Millions said the jackpot was increased from the previous estimate of $586 million thanks to strong sales for the upcoming drawing, which is closing in on the record jackpot of $656 million.
The last Mega Millions payout was a $190 million jackpot won by a Maryland player on Oct 1.
