New York state trooper dies after falling into gorge during training

CASTILE, N.Y., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- A New York state trooper died after falling into a gorge at Letchworth State Park during a training exercise Wednesday, police said.

The trooper was identified as Ross Riley, who was part of a special operations response team, Sgt. Michael Hockey of the state police in Warsaw told the (Rochester) Democrat and Chronicle.

WGRZ-TV in Buffalo said the emergency call came in just after 1 p.m.
