ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The FBI said a New Jersey woman, who went missing in 2009, may have been a victim of admitted serial killer Israel Keyes.
Keyes, 34, killed himself in an Alaska jail cell in December after being linked to 11 killings from 2001 to March 2012.
Before his death, Keyes told the FBI he abducted a woman from a state on the East Coast, transported her over several state lines, killed her and buried her in upstate New York, the FBI said.
The woman was one of "seven or eight other victims" he discussed before his suicide, Special Agent Jolene Goeden of the FBI's Anchorage division said.
FBI Special Agent Barbara Woodruff told CNN Keyes was shown photographs of missing people and unsolved murder victims and when he came upon a photograph of Debra Feldman, 49, he paused and said, "I'm not ready to talk about that one."
Authorities weren't able to get more information about Feldman from Keyes before he died, CNN said.
Keyes, who studied other serial killers, is believed to have committed crimes across the country, including a couple in Vermont in 2011. His last known victim was Samantha Koenig, a barista in an Anchorage coffeehouse, who died in 2012.
Keyes, who had been using Koenig's debit card, was arrested in Texas and extradited to Anchorage. After his death, investigators found two caches he had created with equipment to kill and to dispose of bodies, one in Alaska and the other in the Adirondack region of New York.
