Off-duty pilot arrested in Utah after allegedly groping teen on flight

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A federal complaint filed in Salt Lake City accuses an off-duty pilot of groping a 14-year-old girl aboard a Delta Air Lines flight, prosecutors said.

The complaint against Michael Pascal, 45, Monday charges him with abusive sexual contact on an aircraft. His detention hearing is set for Thursday, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Pascal, a pilot for the regional airline Delta Connection, was seated next to the alleged victim on a plane flying from Detroit to Salt Lake City when she fell asleep and awoke to note Pascal's hand "far enough under her buttocks that his fingers were touching her inner thigh," the complaint states.

The unidentified teen, on crutches with a broken foot, was moved to another seat in the plane, ABC News reported. Police met the plane when it arrived in Salt Lake City and arrested Pascal, the network said.
