DELTONA, Fla., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Officials in a Florida city said they got more than your garden variety spam in their email -- they were all sent hardcore pornography.
Deltona, Fla., City Commissioner Heidi Herzberg said she got an email that appeared to be from the Boy Scouts but when she opened it she was shocked to find photos of women engaged in sex acts, WFTV, Orlando, reported Wednesday.
"All of a sudden, bam, full color," Herzberg said.
Deltona Mayor John Masiarczyk said he received a similar email that appeared to be from a charity. He said other officials across Volusia County were also on the email list. As he scrolled down the email it went from bad to worse.
"This was intentional," Masiarczyk said. "It was just an act out there by some fool who thought he was going to cause some disruption to us."
He said the city's IT director has blocked the IP address from which the emails originated. Police are investigating to determine whether any crime occurred.
