LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Police said Tuesday there have been three dry-ice bombs -- bottles with dry ice inside -- found at the city's airport in the last few days.
Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Michael Downing said the bombs were found Sunday and Monday at Los Angeles International Airport, two in the aircraft area at the Tom Bradley International terminal and one in a Terminal 2 in an employee bathroom, the Los Angeles Times reported.
A dry-ice bomb exploded in the bathroom Sunday. An airport worker found a second near Gate 148, but Downing, head of the cities counter-terror unit, said that device was not detonated.
The Times said the employee who found the device told officials he had found another device Sunday, but threw it away, thinking it was garbage.
Downing said initial confusion about an explosion Monday came from the employee's report about separate incidents, the Times said.
No one was injured.
The FBI was helping in the investigation, and authorities were asking the public and airport workers to report anything suspicious.
