MIAMI, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The Florida execution of 49-year-old convicted killer Marshall Lee Gore has been set for Tuesday.
Gore was convicted and sentenced to death in the March 1988 killing of Robyn Novick, a 30-year-old exotic dancer whose nude body was found in rural Miami-Dade, WFOR-TV, Miami, reported.
He was also convicted in the murder of Susan Roark, and the attempted murder of a third woman.
He was initially sentenced to die June 24, but execution was postponed by legal maneuvering to July 10.
Before July 10, Gore alleged he delusional and too insane to be executed. However, a court rejected Gore's claim and Gov. Rick Scott set a third execution date for Sept. 10.
Scott then abruptly postponed the execution again, later saying Attorney General Pam Bondi had requested the postponement because of the fundraiser.
"I should not have moved it," Bondi told reporters. "I'm sorry and it will not happen again."
In the days before the Oct. 1 execution, Gore's attorney again alleged Gore was not fit for execution, saying Gore was paranoid that elite and wealthy people wanted him executed so they could harvest his organs.
