MILWAUKEE, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin appeals court has ordered the release of documents from a closed secret investigation of former aides to Gov. Scott Walker.
Judge Patricia Curley ordered the records be released within 15 days in conjunction with an appeal by Kelly Rindfleisch, who pleaded guilty to felony misconduct in office for doing campaign work on her county job, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday.
In her plea agreement, Rindfleisch, Walker's deputy chief of staff when he was Milwaukee County executive, retained her right to appeal.
The judge's ruling orders the release of the search warrant used to seize records in Walker's office in 2010 when he was country executive.
Rindfleisch's attorney, Franklyn Gimbel, has said his client's plea should be thrown out because her constitutional rights were violated by the expansive search of her emails and property.
Rindfleisch was sentenced to six months in jail and three years of probation. The investigation resulted in the convictions of six people, including three former Walker aides.
