Police said teen lured to his death by Facebook message

INDIANAPOLIS, July 24 (UPI) -- A 16-year-old Indiana boy was lured to his death by a message on Facebook, say court documents filed in the arrest of a suspect, also 16.

The message, posted on the social media site an hour before the shooting that killed James Johnson, asked the victim to come to an Indianapolis playground, The Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday.

Demarcus French, also of Indianapolis, posted the message under the profile name "MurderManBang," the affidavit alleged.

The affidavit did not indicate the nature or content of the message.

French was arrested late Monday in the shooting death of Johnson two weeks ago. He has been charged as an adult with killing the teenager and intentionally carrying an illegal firearm.

Indianapolis police said French was arrested in 2010 on allegations of armed robbery and has run away from a series of foster homes several times since 2008.
