Illinois high school officials investigating 'sexting' reports

EVANSTON, Ill., May 24 (UPI) -- Officials at a suburban Chicago high school said they were investigating reports of female students sending inappropriate photos to varsity baseball players.

Some of the male students at Evanston Township High School allegedly circulated the photographs to other students, officials said.

In a letter sent to parents of students in the school district Thursday, officials didn't say whether the "sexting" allegations were true, but that "appropriate actions have been taken."

The letter said the Evanston Police Department and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services decline to take any action in regards to the incident, the Chicago Tribune reported.
