LOS ANGELES, May 10 (UPI) -- An 18-year-old California father was arrested for allegedly beating his infant daughter, who is less than a month old, police said.
Sean Michael Beard of Hesperia was arrested Wednesday and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, authorities said.

Beard and the baby's 16-year-mother had taken their daughter to a hospital, the Los Angeles Times said, and the baby was treated for bruises to her face.
Doctors also discovered additional trauma allegedly caused by abuse, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office said.
