Arizona high school student arrested for explosives possession

TEMPE, Ariz., May 8 (UPI) -- A Tempe, Ariz., high school student was arrested on suspicion of possessing an improvised explosive device, police said.

Joshua Prater, 18, was taken into custody after a woman cleaning the house in which he resided found what appeared to be a bomb Tuesday and delivered it to a Tempe fire station. Fire fighters notified police, who arrived at the fire station, identified the device as an improvised explosive device and disarmed it, Tempe Police Department spokesman Sgt. Mike Pooley said.
