Banking official charged with child pornography

PITTSBURGH, April 18 (UPI) -- A computer security official for a Pennsylvania investment firm has been charged with child pornography, federal and local officials say.

Duane Amity, 45, of Monroeville, was arrested after agents with the FBI said thousands of images of nude girls as young as 2 were found on his home computer, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday.

Amity is a vice president of computer network security with BNY Mellon investment services.

He has been released on $25,000 bond.

Allegheny County prosecutors said a file with more than 900 images, all of which had been deleted or were no longer "active," was found on Amity's computer after the FBI executed a search warrant in December.

Nearly 3,000 photos and images of girls between the ages of 2 and 10 were found, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.

The FBI began its investigation in October after receiving a tip that someone at a specific Internet address was sharing files that could be child pornography.

Investigators said Amity told them he had been looking at child porn for 10 years, and that he had deleted the images without sharing them with anyone.

Amity told police he had been molested as a child, but denied ever touching a child in a sexual way.
