BRIGHTON, Mass., April 11 (UPI) -- Six Boston College seniors, including a member of the Rockefeller family, were arraigned on charges of vandalizing a residence in March, prosecutors said.
The six men, each of whom pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering and malicious damage charges Wednesday in Brighton, Mass., District Court, are accused of forcing their way into an apartment in the two-family house, punching holes in walls, and urinating and throwing food throughout the apartment, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement.
They also allegedly severed a gas line in the building's basement, endangering a sleeping tenant as the building filled with gas, prosecutors said.
Jake Wark, a spokesman for Conley, said "alcohol may have played a part" in the March 16 incident, the day before St. Patrick's Day, The Boston Globe said.
One of the defendants is Christian Rockefeller, 22, great-grandson of former U.S. vice president and New York governor Nelson Rockefeller, the newspaper said.
"When all the evidence comes out, it will be shown he is not guilty of all charges," Conrad J. Bletzer, Rockefeller's attorney, said, adding his client "would have been welcome" at the apartment in question, without elaborating.
The six men were ordered to return to court May 16.
