Murder suspect arrested at Walmart

MORGAN HILL, Calif., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A suspect in a gang-related killing in San Jose, Calif., was arrested as he stood in a Walmart checkout line on Black Friday, police said.

Jacob Haro, 18, was arrested after he was recognized by an off-duty Santa Clara County juvenile probation officer in Morgan Hill, Morgan Hill police spokesman Sgt. Troy Hoefling said in a release.

Haro, considered armed and dangerous, had an outstanding arrest warrant for murder and attempted murder in the May killing of Ruben Zamora, 16, police said.

Zamora and a 23-year-old man were shot while standing on a street corner in San Jose. The second victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, the Bay Area News Group said.

Officers arrested Haro at the store without incident, the police release said.
