Police seek tips in baby's kidnapping

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Police are hoping an autopsy and tips from the public will shed light on a Pennsylvania grandmother's slaying and the disappearance of a 10-month-old baby.

Police in King of Prussia, Pa., outside Philadelphia, had little to say about the death of Satayvathi Venna, 61, on Monday. Venna had been watching her granddaughter, Saanvi Venna, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday when someone killed the grandmother and apparently kidnapped the baby girl.

King of Prussia police have issued no statement as to the elder Venna's cause of death or speculation about who might have had a motive for the attack, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday.

"Investigators are attempting to identify any person with a motive to harm any member of the Venna family," police said.

Satayvathi Venna's father issued a brief statement Monday, pleading, "If someone finds my baby, could you please bring my baby back?"
