HENDERSON, Nev., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Police have arrested two suburban Las Vegas teachers for allegedly having sex with a female junior high school student.
Bambi M. Dewey, 32 and John E. Stalmach, 31, are charged with solicitation of a minor to engage in acts constituting crime against nature, after allegedly having sex with the teenager at the home the couple shared.
Stalmach is also accused of having sex with the girl while Dewey wasn't present and was additionally charged with sexual conduct between a school employee and a pupil.
The alleged acts took place between November 2011 and January 2012, the Las Vegas Sun reported.
Dewey is a teacher at Brown Junior High School in Henderson, Nev. Stalmach is a teacher at Dailey Elementary School.
Both were teachers at Brown at the time the alleged victim, now 16, attended school there, the Sun said.
Stalmach was being held in lieu of $60,000 bail and Dewey was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. The Clark County school district has put both teachers on unpaid leave, a district spokesman said Monday.
